A cooperative constraint makes inclusion affect performance, while the game still leaves players free to choose how to help.
Watch for: Every player has a visible role in the solution. Teammates use constructive names, signals, or encouragement. The group resets mistakes without blame or exclusion.

Set it up
25 × 30 yards
Use small, frequently remixed groups and give each group one shared ball and one shared outcome. Create three eight-yard-wide connected channels with a four-yard start zone and end zone; place spare balls at both ends.

- Begin one group in each channel, explain the scoring direction and role rotation, and rehearse the first trip without defenders.
- Small teams move through three channels with players ahead, beside, and behind the ball; roles rotate after each trip.
- Play three three-minute rounds: unopposed picture, guided pressure, then live game-like pressure. During play, coach only this action: Use names, show a helpful action, acknowledge ideas, and change role after contributing so another player can enter the play.
- Progression: Add opposition only after the group can organize itself, then reward solutions involving multiple players rather than mandatory pass counts.
- Ask, “What did a teammate do that made your next action easier?” Listen to two answers, then replay so players can test an idea.
