S passes from the near end to A in the middle. D starts two yards behind A. Two two-yard far-end cone gates are shooting targets; there is no goalkeeper in this version. Mark four corners and two two-yard gates on the far end using four more cones. Keep spare balls outside the near sideline.
Space: 12 × 16 yards per station; leave 3 yards between stations
Equipment: 2 balls per station (one spare) · 8 flat cones per station · Optional bibs; use agreed team/role names if unavailable
- Start
- S passes when A is ready. Begin with D shadowing; make D live only after A’s first touch when the group can manage it.
- Score
- A scores with a ground shot through either gate from inside the grid. D may win the ball and carry it over the near end. No one stands behind a target.
- Reset & rotate
- Stop the repetition after a shot, regain, or ball out. Retrieve only after play stops. After each attempt, the server becomes A, A becomes D, and D joins the back of the server queue. A fourth or fifth player starts in that queue. Retrieve balls outside the shooting corridor only while play is stopped.

One cue: Prepare the touch; see the target
If it breaks down: Players cross a shooting lane to collect: stop all shots and demonstrate the outside return route before restarting.
Entry version: Remove D’s challenge and shorten the pass and shot distance.
Safety: Check the surface and clearance around the grid. No pushing, holding, slide tackles, or challenges from behind. Begin with no-contact route blocking; allow clean ball-winning pressure only when players can control the approach. Stop play before retrieving a ball from another station.
