Touch the top-front of the ball lightly with the sole of one foot, return that foot to the ground, then switch feet. The ball should stay almost still.
Toe taps & foundations
Ball mastery · Balance & coordination
Wake up the feet and build a relaxed rhythm with the ball under close control.
Why this design: The sequence begins with two repeatable close-control actions, then asks players to carry those touches into movement and scanning. The goal is coordinated, relaxed contact with the ball—not a foot-speed contest.
15 × 15 yard grid
Give every player a ball and enough personal space inside a clearly marked grid. Boundary cones are optional: agree clear existing lines or fixed ground landmarks and walk the limits together. Organize 8 players before starting. Give every player a clear movement route. Check every player can move without entering another group's route.

- 2:11 · Stationary and controlled: Begin with alternating toe taps at a comfortable rhythm. Use one simple action, generous space, and no elimination. Inside each timed phase, offer short repetitions and pauses whenever players need to reset.
- 0:20 · Drink and reset: Offer a drink, demonstrate the next action briefly, and rotate partners or leaders if used. Take more time whenever needed and shorten play.

Use the inside of the right foot to move the ball 6–12 inches left, then the inside of the left foot to move it back. Stay on the front of the feet with soft knees.
Place the front half of the sole gently on top of the ball to stop it; do not jump onto or stamp the ball.
After the close touches, use the inside of either foot to push the ball into a clear lane, take two or three dribbling touches, then regain control.
