Parallel 12 × 4 yard lanes
Build enough parallel slalom lanes to keep groups to two or three players, with recovery space after the final cone.
- Players
- 4–24
- Equipment
- 1 ball per player · 4–6 cones per lane
- Players weave at walking speed using any surface.
- Repeat with an inside-outside rhythm and balanced body position.
- Exit the final cone with a controlled five-yard burst, then walk back outside the lane.
Gradual intensity
- Walk the pattern
- Jog with clean technique
- Add one short controlled burst
- Small into the turn
- Push out of the turn
- Clear lane before starting
Make it easier
Use fewer cones with wider spacing.
Add a stretch
Call a turn at the final cone or add a scanning signal during the burst.
Same idea, different entry
- U6–U8Use one simple action, 30–45 second rounds, generous space, and no elimination.
- U9–U10Combine two actions, invite both feet, and build from control toward moderate speed.
- U11–U12Link the action to scanning and the session focus, then finish with controlled acceleration or pressure.
Safety check
Use one-way lanes, leave recovery space, and release the next player only when the lane is clear.
If it breaks down
- Lines grow; add lanes or let players dribble freely beside the pattern.
- Speed replaces control; widen cone spacing and reset the challenge.
