20 × 25 yard area with scattered cone gates
Scatter more gates than players through the area and leave several yards beyond each gate.
- Players
- 4–24
- Equipment
- 1 ball per player · 16–24 cones
- Players travel through as many different gates as they can without racing.
- Add a ball-surface or turn choice after each gate.
- Challenge the group to use every gate cooperatively before time expires.
Gradual intensity
- Explore at walking speed
- Add turns and moderate pace
- Finish with a cooperative timed round
- Find an empty gate
- Touch through, then look
- Change route early
Make it easier
Use large gates and remove the counting challenge.
Add a stretch
Use a named surface through the gate and a different turn afterward.
Same idea, different entry
- U6–U8Use one simple action, 30–45 second rounds, generous space, and no elimination.
- U9–U10Add one visual decision cue and let players choose their response.
- U11–U12Link the action to scanning and the session focus, then finish with controlled acceleration or pressure.
Safety check
Space gates widely, use cooperative scoring, and remind players to yield rather than collide.
If it breaks down
- Players chase the same gate; add gates and reward early route changes.
- Counting creates unsafe racing; use a shared group goal instead.
